FIXIT Oahu and FIXIT Builders BC-33664 are built on something simple: the way we were raised.

They grew up on O‘ahu in the 80s—Dave in Pauoa Valley, his wife Shay in Aiea—when hard work, honesty, and taking care of family and friends were just how things were done. Their parents modeled integrity in every interaction, teaching lessons that stuck: sincerity can’t be faked, you never take advantage of others, and real work always benefits everyone involved.

Dave carried those lessons into a career of building businesses—first one of Hawai‘i’s earliest Internet Service Providers, then a web design company, then video production. Shay built her career in real estate, where she quickly discovered how hard it was to find a handyman who was reliable, responsive, and professional. Just when she found someone good, they’d vanish, get too busy, or drop the ball.

That pain point planted the seed: what if they could build a handyman company that people could actually count on? One rooted in the values they were raised with—honesty, respect, reliability, and taking care of people like family.

That’s when they connected with Brad. Brad had been a handyman for years but left his old job because he refused to take part in questionable practices that overcharged customers and underpaid workers. When he and Dave first talked, they realized they shared the same vision: do business the right way.

Together, they launched FIXIT Oahu with a mission:

  • Treat every customer like family or friends

  • Never cheat, lie, or deceive

  • Never abuse trust or take advantage of someone’s lack of knowledge

  • Always deliver honesty, reliability, and respect

As Brad puts it:

“At FIXIT, we’re not just fixing problems—we’re building trust. Every job, whether small or big, is done with care, precision, and integrity. Seeing a customer smile when the work is done right—that’s what drives me.”

Brad grew up in Texas before moving to Hawai‘i, where he fell in love with both the island and a local girl, Jaydi, who was born on Kaua‘i and raised on O‘ahu. Brad’s craftsmanship and work ethic blend seamlessly with our island values.

From small home repairs to major renovations, we treat every project with the same care and respect we’d give our own homes. Our reputation for timely, affordable, and reliable service has earned us loyal clientele and referrals through the coconut wireless.

Today, FIXIT Oahu is more than a handyman service. We’re your partners in keeping homes and properties cared for—whether it’s a realtor’s punch list, a property manager’s make-ready, or a homeowner’s repair project.

This isn’t just our business. It’s our way of life: take care of people, do the job right, and do it with a smile in your heart.

Symbols of our faith in Christ Jesus, company culture, and mission—restoring homes with compassion and a sense of calling.

The X in FIXIT is more than a letter—it’s a transformation story. It starts as the roof of a house turned upside down, then set right again–what we do for every home in our care. Inside the X, the traditional Hawaiian design reflects the values we stand on.

Solid blocks symbolize our foundation in Jesus (1 Cor 3:11) with 3 spearheads and 5 slender arrows representing our ‘ohana. The ‘iwa bird honors Ke Ali‘i Pauahi’s legacy of faith, speaking to compassion, guidance, and finding one's way home. The shark teeth show FIXIT handymen—sent out two by two, then one by one equipped to go out on their own. Blessings flow back and forth between our customers and our techs, because every project should be a true win-win.
