FIXIT Oahu and FIXIT Builders BC-33664 were built on something simple: the values we were raised with here in Hawai‘i.
Dave grew up in Pauoa Valley, and his wife Shay in Aiea, during a time when hard work, honesty, and looking after family and friends ruled. Their parents modeled integrity every day and taught lessons that last a lifetime. Sincerity cannot be faked. Trust is earned. Good work should benefit everyone involved.
Dave carried those values into decades of building successful businesses in Hawai‘i, from one of the islands’ earliest Internet Service Providers to web, video, and creating HISessions. Shay built her career in real estate, where finding a handyman who was reliable, responsive, and professional was way too hard. The good ones often disappeared, retired, or got too busy.
That challenge sparked a clear idea. What if there was a handyman company people could genuinely depend on? One built on honesty, respect, reliability, and care for others.
That vision came together when Dave met Brad.
Brad had years of hands on experience but left his previous job after refusing to participate in practices that overcharged customers and undervalued workers. From their first conversation, it was clear they shared the same belief. Do the work right. Treat people fairly. Never compromise integrity.
Together, they launched FIXIT Oahu with a mission.

As Brad says, “At FIXIT, we’re not just fixing problems. We’re building trust. Every job, big or small, is done with precision and integrity. When a customer is happy because the work was done right, that’s what matters.”
Brad grew up in Texas and made Hawai‘i home, where he fell in love with both the islands and his wife Jaydi, who was born on Kaua‘i and raised on O‘ahu. His craftsmanship, attention to detail, and work ethic blend naturally with island values.
From small repairs to major renovations, FIXIT Oahu approaches every project with the same level of care and respect we would expect in our own homes. Our reputation for reliable scheduling, fair pricing, and quality work has led to long term clients and steady referrals through the coconut wireless.

With over two decades of experience in construction, operations, and management, Michael H.K. Chang brings unmatched expertise to every project. Mike ventured out on his own in 2014 with one mission: to build the right way.

The X in FIXIT is more than a letter—it’s a transformation story. It starts as the roof of a house turned upside down, then set right again–what we do for every home in our care. Inside the X, the traditional Hawaiian design reflects the values we stand on.
Solid blocks symbolize our foundation in Jesus (1 Cor 3:11) with 3 spearheads and 5 slender arrows representing our ‘ohana. The ‘iwa bird honors Ke Ali‘i Pauahi’s legacy of faith, speaking to compassion, guidance, and finding one's way home. The shark teeth show FIXIT handymen—sent out two by two, then one by one equipped to go out on their own. Blessings flow back and forth between our customers and our techs, because every project should be a true win-win.
